Shanmugha Fibres and Coirs was started in 2008 and has developed around the principle of working directly with natural resources and converting them into useful fibre, material and product applications.
The company's activities cover coconut and coir as well as jute, sisal, hemp, banana, bamboo and lotus. Its manufacturing direction also extends into textiles, hygiene products and plant-based material development.

His academic background includes a Master's in Agriculture and doctoral-level academic qualifications in Agriculture and Physics, forming part of the educational foundation behind his interest in agriculture, natural resources, materials and related applications.
